Because they're more comfortable.

Yeah, some of us can't pull off the same effect as Monroe when we're standing over a sidewalk vent with our billowy dresses.

I'd love to wear dresses/skirts more often but pants/jeans are way more practical if you're not a department store mannequin. I often walk to work, and sometimes actually have to move while I'm at work. I'm no ballerina so me not wearing a dress is sort of a community service.

I should add I'm extremely lucky I can wear whatever I like to work.

I like dresses but they usually aren't practical. Some men like to see women in dresses because they like the idea that something might accidently show or becasue of the easy access to what's underneath. Neither of those things matter however.

Not so liberating when you add the pantyhose.

Nothing more, nothing less to be read into it. Its not a statement making act...its not a feminist declaration. Its pants.
I agree, wearing pants when traveling is just easier and warmer. Airports and airplanes are usually too cold for me.

My wife only wears dresses. Like the women on TV in the 50's.

She greets me at the door when I arrive with a vodka martini and the newspaper.

I will not tolerate a woman wearing pants!

In the large office I work in I am one of only two women who wear pants everyday from October thru June. I do wear skirts and dresses during the warmer months but not everyday.

My legs are big in comparison to the rest of my body and have always been self-conscious of them, so I prefer to hide them.

But it's largely for warmth during the cooler months. I tend to get colder than the average person. And I do think pants are more comfortable all-around.
