Partly in response to the 'shorter shorts for men' thread, I thought I'd look at the opposite. In the 90s and early 00s I noticed long boardshorts or cargo pants were pretty popular with females of all ages, but about 2004 I notice really short shorts started coming back again. I mainly notice the longer (I mean like knee-length) shorts being worn either by older women, women who don't care much about fashion, maybe the especially fashionable or lesbians (I've noticed this many times here at least, definitely). Is this because long shorts have become a 'guy' thing and thus are associated with men? Part of the same reason how short shorts are seen as feminine/gay?

Just another example of typical American hang-ups and insecurities. I guess some things will never really change.

There was a thread about this on here a while back. I have a few pairs of longer workout shorts, and I'd say the definitely look pretty butch. Comfortable enough, though, for days when it's too warm to wear pants for exercise, which is my preferred attire. I don't do shorts at all unless I absolutely have to, and I def. don't do short shorts. Longer shorts aren't very flattering, at all, on most women, but neither are short shorts, IMO. Not a big shorts fan overall.

I don't care what the latest fad is. My legs look the best when my shorts are mid thigh.........so that is how I wear them!

I'm trying to figure out who else is left. Maybe the insecure straight ones who worry what others might think of them?
