I would say someone that is seriously insecure that would need to do this. I mean cmon tatooing your back is one thing but your face..? That girl above got what she deserved.
Unless it's permanent lipliner or something makeup related, I don't really think that it's becoming more mainstream at all. The only people I see with facial tattoos are guys that have spent time in jail.
I think tattoos up to the edge of the ears and sides of the neck are okay. But even that will get you axed from job opportunities. Not so sold on facial tats unless you are hardcore into body modification and make your living from it, or are from some tribe. I suspect everyone else does it because they have bad taste but thought it would look cool.
The cosmetic permanent makeup always falls off within a few years so I'm not counting that.
Those types creep me out. I've seen a few of those on men on the train and they've all looked mean, like they are capable of killing. *shudders*
That girl above is pretty too. She looks good with the tattoos but what if she grows to hate them, then what is she going to do? It's way easier to regret a tatoo that can be covered up but she can never hide her face.

She was an average looking girl. Now she looks like a freak. You know she must be depressed as hel l. She'll probably kill herself inside of five years. That is so messed up. All I can say is WTF. And I agree with the op, tattoos on the face are stupid. I don't get why people cover their whole face like some lizard either. What is your deal freako?
I personally like my face tattooless. That's how I am going to keep it.
