Alright now, yesterday I decided to wear my new skinny tie to the office. I wasn't even creative, I just thought I'd wear the grey coloured one with my fitted shirt which was kind of turquoise in colour. But express calls it seaside blue, but it's somewhere between seaside blue, seaport and turquoise.

Dark pants of course. I got glowing reviews in the office. People said it was cute, even my fricking boss, who happens to be a guy But he told me he would like to wear it if he were younger, but he is not any older, he's only in his mid 40s and I'm not young myself (31).

So what's the consensus among the fashion champs here about corp rats in formals with a skinny tie I'm suddenly investing in skinny ties.

Ok, express says its alloy and not grey. And they even recommend the same kind of shirt which I wore. So I did make the right pick

Skinny ties appeared first around late 20's. Today more men especially Hollywood stars are using these modern and trendy ties. A person will look formal and elegant if you wear the right choice of your skinny tie that will match your overall attire.

well what field do u work in? I only know 2 ppl who regularly wear skinny ties: one's an architect, the other in entertainment law/music publishing. I definitely know my boss (who's not 40 yet) HATES skinny ties and thinks ppl who wear them are trying too hard to be hip & hollywood.

Project and portfolio management. I'm gonna pull a skinny tie stunt in a presentation I have to give next week. I think I have nothing to lose
