I am thinking about buying prescription sunglasses. The problem is that I wear glasses and my eyes cannot tolerate contact lenses. Would it be dumb to buy prescription sunglasses for driving then every time I go inside somewhere I have change to my regular glasses?
Most people who wear contacts wouldn't need prescription sunglasses, since they'd just wear regular sunglasses over their contacts.
I do wear contacts, but my mom and sister both have glasses and prescription sunglasses that they switch when going inside out out. You'd get used to it.
yeah i can't wear contacts either so i have both rx regular and rx sunglasses and switch for driving. i got my prescription eyeglasses online for about $30, so it wasn't a big deal if it didn't work out (though it has)
I've had both rx regulars and rx sunglasses for 30 years. I switch back and forth. No problems. They do make the lenses that get darker in the sun but, for me, they don't get dark enough. (My DH uses them and he loves them.)
For days I'm not wearing contacts, I use prescription eyeglasses that come with a magnetic sunglass clip-on. Mine are EasyClip. They come in many different styles. I love them.
(I just put the link up for illustrative purposes. Not shilling. I actually got mine elsewhere. )
Can anybody please recommend some nice online stores for prescription sunglasses? Thanks!
The big ones are eyebuydirect, zenni optical, and 39 dollar glasses, but there are many others. you need to have your prescription and it really should have been updated in the last year. you'll go through the process like you are buying regular glasses but then pick a heavy tint. here is a blog about online rx glasses (mods feel free to remove link if inappropriate)

My husband has those too and loves them. His came from Walmart's optical department.
Why not get transition lenses? That way you have glasses and sunglasses all in one.
