I have a coupon for 30% off to Old Navy that expires soon and was wondering what items are a good value there? I have never purchased or worn their clothes before.
It's very hit and miss, IMO. Can be a good place for inexpensive basics, but quality varies, so examine items carefully for stitching flaws, read labels, etc. I've had ribbed tank tops that bag out and become shapeless a half-hour into wearing them, and have bought other tops (typically with more lycra) that hold their shape very well even after multiple wearings. I used to like how their jeans fit, but they've changed a lot of their denim styling, and I no longer buy jeans there. Their loungewear, sleepwear, and some fitness wear holds up very well...I actually have some pajama pants from there that date back to my college years (over a decade ago) that have held up perfectly. I have a jersey knit, dip-dyed maxi dress from two seasons ago that gets heavy wearing, and gets loads of compliments every time I wear it...and other stuff that looked shabby after a half-dozen wearings.
My experience is that the clothes are inexpensive but typically don't last a tremendous amount of time (you get what you pay for). They do have some cute stuff though...have fun with your shopping!
I also have their roll over waist skirts...they are comfy and have washed well so far.
I bought a denim jacket there and wear it all the time...construction and quality are great.
In general, their light weight fabrics tend to be too flimsy to last more than a season or two. I'd stick with heavier fabrics from there...linen mixes, canvas and denim.
Avoid Old Navy. It won't last. Worst quality. It may be a good choice for the growing child that won't old on to clothes for long. Or fashionable items you don't plan to wear past the season. But don't purchase anything you plan on wearing for a while there.
Depends on the item..it's a hit and miss kinda store for quality.
You may want to try JC Penney, there are always boatloads of coupons for $10 off $50 or more.
I've bought a ton of kid's clothes from there, and some Men's clothes. Not impressed overall with the quality of the tees and dresses I've bought for my dd, but the men's clothing I've bought for my ds seems to hold up much better (jeans, polos, jackets).
