There's a huge amount of variation is how well people age but I also think it's about equal. I worked with a woman in Tempe, AZ who was absolutely beautiful and I thought she was probably 35 at the most. I found out she was in her early 50's which was a big surprise. But I've also seen the opposite in both men and women who were only about 40 but looked at least 60. Things like smoking, getting too much sun and other lifestyle factors can also play a big part and bring on the wrinkles sooner. People generally think I look about as old as I actually am.
For the most part men do. Althought that may be changing. In the past it seems that men would trade in the first wife for a younger Trophy wife. Maybe women are doing that now as the Cougar has come into existence. Still if you look at a man in his 60's and a woman in her 60's it seems that most of the men are in better shape.
Women damage their skin with cosmetics. I would wager that women who never wear makeup age gracefully.
