Patchouli.

I hated it.

My mother wore Estee Lauder and my grandmother, White Shoulders. I have a small powder shaker with the EL and a box/puff of White Shoulders...whenever I miss them, I just take a whiff.

Awesome post, thanks....I wondered if others were affected as much by scent and how immediate the transport back to that time can be.

Also, Caress soap appeared on the mkt just when I was beginning to date one of my serious past boyfriends. To this day, if I smell that soap, I totally remember our first kiss and the excitement of the time.

My Sin by Lanvin. It was one of those old perfumes that smell almost stinky in the bottle, but transformed into a heavenly scene on the skin. I have a bottle that I bought from Ebay several years ago, but I don't wear it often. Those old great perfumes are damn expensive when you can find them.

She also wore Aphrodisia and White Shoulders and Shalimar, but not as much as My Sin.

Shalimar is my signature scent, and has been for many years (I'm 49, btw).
The old stuff is the best!

Murphy's Oil Soap - my mother was always making me wash the woodwork and mop the floors.
