For those women who saw "Casino Royale" (James Bond movie) with Daniel Craig coming out of the ocean in blue swim trunks, it's obvious in America if you go to a local swimming pool that there are no men in the U.S. wearing those types of swimming shorts as they aren't Speedo's or "board shorts" which are the primary 2 choices for the most part at your local sports shop. Granted there are few men that can pull off that swimwear as you need to be in fantastic shape to do it and NOT have small legs that would be accentuated by this shorter style. Are there any ladies that would find those shorts appealing on a man IF the man wearing them was in great muscular shape?
I find speedos or speedo-like swimwear to be perfectly acceptable. I just don't understand all the hoopla about them. Question: does one's swimwear cover what it is supposed to cover? Longer shorts only cover more leg, which is really no big deal to show imo.
I grew up in a culture where men wear speedos/speedo-like pieces when they go to the beach, it is normal.
Many women (I am a woman, btw) wear extremely inappropriate, tiny bikinis all the time and nobody complains. I don't find it elegant at all; it is so chic to see (since you mentioned movies) an Ursula Andress-like bikini as opposed to all those boobs or butt hanging out.
As long as one's swimwear covers what should not be exposed in public to an acceptable level, imo one is good to go.

Seriously?? Speedos??
Not in my part of America, unless you are a competitive diver/swimmer.
I think that the shorts that Craig wore in Casino Royale are the perfect mix for a man that is in great shape. As someone who wore shorter versions of the current "board shorts" as a teenager, I find that as a 44 year old man, I feel like a 20 something surfer when I wear the stuff today that is knee length or below. I'm actually thinking on getting the shorts hemmed up by 3 inches because I DON'T have skinny thighs to hide.

Just to clarify, I didn't mean to imply that men were flocking into Sports Authority or Dick's Sporting Goods really wanting to wear and buy Speedo's but merely to state that they are available to buy(mostly for competitive swimmers I would assume).I would never wear them and know no man that would personally.

as far as upper body is concerned, you see the same thing on a guy no matter what he wears. i guess im not sure what would be more appealing to a woman if a guy wears something this is shorter and shows more leg (or maybe tighter and highlights the package).
I'm a board shorts kinda gal. I think they look sexy on guys. Heck, even I prefer wearing them when I swim. I've never been a Speedo gal.
