Thats one of those scents that REALLY changes depending on who is wearing it. It seems so to my nose anyway. I have smelled it and loved it but it just smells disgusting on me. I don't care for it either. Chance is nice though if used lightly.
I love Chanel #5! Love it, love it! But I don't own any because the scent does not last on me at all.
I tried on a new scent today that I really, really like ~ Violet Eyes, the newest Elizabeth Taylor scent. Smelled great on me but didn't appear to last.
It's just what you are used to. These days it's all fruit and cupcakes and "grandmother" isn't a smell btw. You personally have experience with because of your age. My grandmother smelled like White Shoulders, you wouldn't like that either. But guys went wild for it. In 50 years people are going to be saying the same thing about whatever you wear.
I tried some on whilst at the mall yesterday. I smelled like my grandmother!
If your grandmother wore it she was probably plenty sexy in her day.
Every generation thinks they've invented "sexy". Wrong. You smell Chanel No 5 and say "ugg". Fourty, fifty years ago men were smelling it and couldn't wait to seduce the beautiful woman who wore it. I'd urge you to talk to grandma about how she wooed grandpa. You'll probably be shocked.
Issey Miyake, Viktor & Rolf, and Carolina Herrera are all my favorites !!
