I have a very basic, but important, skin care question. I almost feel silly for asking this, as I should know. But, does a toner come after or before a peel?

I would assume that it comes after, but I just want some clarity on this.

Thank you!

You use the toner after the peel, and before the moisturizer.

Ugh I used peels in the past...went in the sun, and got an itchy rash. Honestly, if I were peeling my skin I would follow the directions carefully and NOT use a toner before OR after peeling. Use the deactivator (or whatever your brand calls it) and a recommended moisturizer...and stay out of the sun.

I would not use a toner when you are doing a peel. It could be too harsh for your skin. Just moisturize after the peel and you might want to use a moisturizer with an spf. Your peel probably tells you to stay out of the sun after the process.

I believe in doing your treatments at night so the skin has time to repair itself. I appreciate all of your replies and will follow only with a cream in the evenings as advised.

Toner is an extra. Not everyone needs it.

Much of it depends on the harshness/chemical makeup of the peel as well.
