Judging by magazine ads, aviators appear to be the current fashion in mens sunglasses. What say you?

Oh Nooooooooooooooooo,

don't tell me that men aren't allowed to wear sunglasses, or they will be made fun of...

I love RayBan Aviators and have worn them for 20 years. Currently I wear a pair of aviator precription shades for driving, as I noticed that, for some reason, they started printing the letters on the street sign a bit smaller a few years ago. LOL.
Aviators are just plain ol' Old School Cool. In the winter--or what passes for winter down here in Austin--I really dig wearing 'em with my leather bomber jacket, goin' for that scruffy chopper pilot look.
The only ONE thing I don't like about 'em is that you gotta be really careful with the wire frames; you can't slip them over the top of your head when you walk inside like you can with sturdier plastic framed shades. And yeah, I of course have the hardcase for them, but I find it too bulky to slip in my pocket. So I usually jusy fold the 'bans over the top button of my shirt front.
It's also easy for the frames to become a bit bent so they sit on your face a little crooked. This latter fact is probab;y the biggest pet peeve people have against Aviators: their fragility.
Still..I think they look so cool it's worth it.

There are some aviator type frames that are sturdier but then I guess youlose the whole look of the wire frames. I had a pair of D&G sunglasses that were aviator like that I actually lked and picked up for only about $60 on amazon or some sunglass site, I think they sell at sunglass hut for about $130

Anything is better than those stupid and impractical shade glasses. You know those things that look like window blinds? Yeah, what was that designer smoking?

My dad has been wearing the SAME pair of Ray Ban aviators for over 20 years! He always keeps them in the hard case when not wearing them.

I put on a pair of wraparounds the other day and my daughter said derogatorily they looked like "fly eyes". I guess they're so 5 years ago.

I've had my aviator-style Oakley Crosshairs for 6+ years now. They're not going anywhere (except back to Oakley for a lens replacement/tune up) anytime soon.

Aviators are a sure-fire way to always be in style; other types are best sought after by those wishing to be trendy.
