No kidding! I don't understand why people can't be satisfied with posting NORMAL pictures of themselves.
And what's with the "duck lips" posing that many women do in photos??? I can't imagine doing that with my lips and actually posting the photo. UGH! It doesn't look sexy. It looks stupid.
There's a narcissist in every one of us. Nothing wrong with facebook. It's just a medium. Formerly, people lived in the stone age in terms of the Internet. The technology has evolved, so it's coming more to the outside.
narcissism is not so mild to write off as a facet of inevitable human behavior. It is pernicious and destructive to the social order.
I think many people really have become more self-absorbed and narcissistic lately. Does Facebook and Twitter have anything to do with this? Probably.
Most of those I know who take constant pictures of themselves are in the under 30 crowd, though there are exceptions. I know a man in his mid 40's who always takes pictures of himself (even when he's with other people, he has them take multiple photos of just him). He has hundreds of photos of himself on his FB. It's really bizarre to me.
The worst are the women who take those pictures of themelves from an angle above, and they're pouting their lips out.
These losers need to start their own blog and quit wasting bandwidth and resources on Facebook. They must be having flashbacks of "Doogie Houser M.D"
And of course anywhere from 20 to 200 people "like" and comment on this stuff. C'mon people! Get a life! I'm okay with one or two of those posts in a yearly period but not once a week and every day.

I agree. While a small percentage of people can pull this off and look good, most people don't.
I suspect part of this trend with the daily FB photos is people are being influenced by the paparazzi coverage of celebrities nowadays.
We're all constantly bombarded by daily updates on whatever Lindsay Lohan, Pippa whoever, Paris Hilton are doing, what they're wearing, who they're talking to, where they are... and it doesn't matter if they're scratching their heiny at the Quickymart. There will be photos taken from every angle, and they'll be splashed in newspapers, on TV, in magazine, on the Web... I think "regular" people have started to think that this is normal, and they want to live life in the limelight.

I agree, and I'm puzzled as to how it became a fad.
i take pictures of myself ad nauseum because im sexy

I'ma rep you for this!
