I don't see pantyhose ever coming back in big way. I agree that certain in certain circumstances they will/should be worn. Funerals, very formal work settings, maybe
I find the idea that they are going to come back into vogue , esp here in the US, because "the Princess" wears them very unlikely.
Ditto on all counts. I should say, I am talking about nude colored pantyhose. It looks horrific on everyone. In work settings where I have to wear hose, I make sure I am wearing an outfit where black is agreeable. What Not To Wear has a good video: What Not To Wear: How to Wear Pantyhose : Video : TLC
Don't hold your breath waiting for flesh colored pantyhose to come back. It will always look awful and will make what may be an otherwise chic outfit look dated.
The nude-colored is "nude" - no? Isnt the tannish-colored one the one that looks awful?
I wore pantyhose for years while working in an office environment (late '70's and 1980's). I was SO glad when i changed jobs and didnt have to wear them ANYmore!!
I did hear that 'supposedly' they were making a comeback due to the Princess, but i dont know. Her nailpolish color also supposedly sold millions of shades made similar.
I would love to see a comeback of pantyhose. When a woman wears pantyhose with a dress or skirt, it just makes her look more polished, groomed, and professional.
I wore them (navy) for many years as a flight attendant, but, now that I am about to become an RN (32 days to be exact, but who's counting?) I have bid farewell to pantyhose forever! I couldn't be happier
But you're wearing scrubs..... If you were an RN "back in the day", you'd be wearing a white dress, white pantyhose, white shoes, and cute little white hat. LOL!!!
In the military, women's dress uniforms come with both a skirt and trousers. Sometimes you got to pick which you wanted to wear, sometimes the command would dictate one of the other as the "uniform of the day" . If it was the skirt- you had to wear "nude" pantyhose. Most women in our unit chose to wear trousers rather than deal with pantyhose...
I never stopped wearing pantyhose; I just stopped wearing skirts. Luckily I work in an environment where dress slacks are acceptable.
But in work environments where slacks are not acceptable, or for semi- or formal occasions, pantyhose have never gone out of style. And really, if you think they're uncomfortable or ugly, you're not wearing the proper size or shade.
