Are purple ties symbolizing something these days? I see so many newscasters and sports announcers wearing them, day after day after day. Is this linked to some cause or is it just a hot color right now? I've been wondering this for a while now.

I have two myself. It looks great with dark pants and black shoes on a white or light purple pin-striped shirt.

Lavender is somewhat lighter than purple. Lavender pin-striped shirts are awesome too. These are some of the best in the violet family.

I love purples on my husband. I just made him purchase a couple of new Kiton ties in that color while out shopping.

The purple hues just work well with so many colors: pale yellow, white, light blue, pink, lavender, etc..

I'll post the pictures of my favourite purple tie some time.

But let's get a little contrarian here and look at bow-ties.

With a faint lavender dress shirt, this may not look bad. Purple's always good, it's less flashy than pink and does its job
