Have you seen Madonna with unshaven legs? Probably hairier than most men's. If men shaved their legs wouldn't be considered ugly but they're 'not allowed to' because they'd be accused of being gay so it's a lose lose situation for them.
It stems from the fact that for some reason, the male body has become an object of almost disgust, to be covered up. Women can get away with wearing skimpy clothing, but men are forced to wear dowdy, unflattering clothes, which are often unpractical for hot weather, the beach, the swimming pool. A speedo? God forbid. Men are expected to wear trunks that are so long and baggy that the material would absorb half of the water in the pool. Not in France, non...non...non.
There was a time during the Renaissance period where both female and male bodies were the subject of beautiful paintings. I don't know what changed or why it changed. It definitely hasn't changed for the better, that's for sure. I used to get sick and tired of my ex bashing men who dare wear a certain item of clothing which might be considered too revealing or too feminine by today's standards.
I totally agree, Hombre. I don't think there's anything wrong with showing off the male body, if you have a good one. I do think women are generally less visual in their sexual cues than men are, so maybe the male form isn't appreciated as much as the female form partly for practical reasons. But I don't understand people who always have to make some judgment about what people are wearing. Unless it's downright offensive, who cares?
We (men) have hairy legs. I guess that is why we don't show off our legs as much. If it is hot out though you better believe I will be wearing shorts though. Tough love women. Lol
Really? You think men are hiding the hair on their legs? I never heard that one before. Interesting. I wonder how widespread that thought is.

Either because they think their legs are too hairy or the legs are pale as a piece of paper. I've seen some damn white legs before on a beach.
