Yeah I've met women who never wear heels, and they look like butches. They also don't do their hair, they wear waist-high jeans from the 90s and old tshirts, and don't know what makeup is.
There are high heels that are perfectly comfortable for extended use. A few weeks ago I went on an all-day date (9+ hrs) with a woman who wore 3" wedges during daytime, and 3" pointed heels night-time, and she was fine. I'm 6'2 so pretty much every woman is shorter than I am, and every one of them wears heels.
This excuse is only used by lazy and ill-fasioned women so they don't feel guilty for looking masculine and being lazy

What are you like 12? There is a time and place for high heels and not wearing heels 24/7 does not make anyone less of a woman.
I suspect everyone should define for themselves first what "real woman" is, then heels will follow. Or not.
That's the point. Some people seem to expect a certain image or behavior and can't deal with alternatives. Many men in the West simply want to see women pretending to be oversexed dolls.
The average height for U.S. women is 5'4". I know it's more in a handful of northern countries. I think it's probably a bit more regionally, here in the midwest where I live now. I see taller women more often than when I lived in California. I see fewer heels here in the suburbs, though (especially now when it's icy). I am not in Chicago enough to know how the businesswomen dress there.

I always found it surprising when I read that stat. I think the average in Australia is similar. I really do think our generation is taller than our parents, though. I know many women around my height (5'8"-5'9") but women above 6 feet seem a bit unusual. The tallest woman I've seen was about 6'4". Then again being like 5'2" isn't too unusual even in this day and age.
