Hello. I am a guy who is taller (6'2") and overall with a longer torso (possibly from mild almost Marfan like build), who is losing a lot of belly fat (hello no carb!), and my chest size is suited for Medium or Large size shirts (US sizes).

However it seems most labels build their sizes assuming that everyone is a beached whale in proportions. On top of that if you do just about anything to the clothes washing wise, sometimes even the most delicate wash + hanging up to dry, the length of the shirt shrinks. This results in exposing a ton of midriff, something I'd like to avoid except for at the skankiest clubs. I do have a day job and normal friends, after all.

Which vendors make longer length shirts? Hot Topic does a pretty decent job with their slim fit shirts, and those fit me pretty well, but I'm also looking for dress shirts, polos, normal preppier tee shirts, sweaters, and even hoodies and jackets that are longer length.

For example, could Express Extra Slim Fit XL work out fine? Fitted Large worked fine until some of the shirts from there shrank in every dimension, so it literally would not fit at all eventually.

Any Big & Tall shop for men. I don't know the specific name but something should be found from a search online. Otherwise purchase the clothing you like and find a good tailor.

Um no I really am a dude, and the word is definitely 'shirts', with an 'h'. Does anyone have a serious answer? Tall, yet slim fit and stylish would be ideal. I really want to diversify away from Hot Topic and Express.

Is Brooks Brothers really expensive? I'm looking in the mid-range budget, not really Neiman Marcus-type brands.

Many of the catalogs offer shirts for taller men. Try Eddie Bauer or Land's End.

Gap has shirts and pants in tall sizes, the sleeves are an inch longer than normal and the length is two inches longer. $60 for a collared dress shirt, not too bad and you can get better deals if you stalk the sales. Same with Banana Republic (same company as Gap, slightly fancier).
