To be completely honest, I am terribly weary of having "beautiful people" shoved down my throat by the media. Every once in a while, I see a woman in a TV ad that makes me sit up and say, There is a beautiful woman. But they don't look anything like the airbrushed cover girls.
You did mention Gabrielle's eyes are what gives her that edge. So it's the 'blasian look' that makes her more appealing?

Wide set eyes and full cheeks gives a youthful look, and conveying youth, health, and fertility are the building blocks of what is perceived as attractive.
Rama has a disproportionately large forehead (possibly purposely exaggerated by thinning out her eyebrows) and hooded eyes (said she had nice, skin, not eyes). But you cover up that part of her face and she's perfectly lovely.
I do think people who are half black, half asian sometimes have a nice mix of features, but not necessarily any nicer than someone who is entirely black or entirely asian.
