I don't understand how to measure band size. Right below my breasts its 30 inches. If I measure at the nipple line its 33. So I should buy a 32c bra?
Thing is,I tried on a 38b bra,but the cups were too big.
I then tried a 32d and my breast didn't fit in the cups.
34c bras fit well, but then the straps, even if I tighten them, hang off my shoulders.
Wonder what that means?
It means you should be looking at bras with a 30 band and a maybe a DD..or somewhere around there. Bra sizing can be a lot of trial and error because manufacturers aren't consistent. But if you're back/rib cage is measuring 30", the 38" will be way too big.

The way I was taught is you measure your ribcage (you would be a 30) and then measure over your breasts in your most comfortable bra (no push up etc.) and for every 1" difference it's one cup size. So, you'd be a 30C.

Based on your measurements, you should start with a 30C but if a 34C holds in all your breast tissue, you may try a 30E. It may be a lot tighter than you're used to, but keep in mind 90% of the support should come from the band, not the straps.
Signs of a good fitting bra include:
The center gore sitting right against the chest
The band sits parallel to the floor all the way around
Two fingers can fit under the band at the loosest setting
The breast tissue should be completely contained in the cup, without gapping or spilling over to create the dreaded quadraboob

As I looked at the photos,a lot of women on there don't look like they have small ribcages.
The woman who claims she is a 30G looks like a C cup to me.
Cup is proportional to band. So someone who is a 30G has the same size breasts as someone who is a 36D.
A 30G cup is way smaller than a 34G cup (the cup is the same as 30I). So A, B, C, D doesn't tell you much unless you have the band measurement
some of those women are having me second guess my band size...I measure 31 inches but I wear a 32 band. A lot of those women look my size in the band and say "26"...wtf? weird....
