Have been researching it online, but haven't come up with a ton of before and after photos like you do for breast augmentation/lifts/liposuction. Was previously looking into jaw reduction surgery (where they shave down the bone and remove part of the muscle), but after hearing it was the most painful of facial cosmetic surgery and I'd basically have to be on baby food for a while I think I'll pass.
Basically they inject botox into your overdeveloped masseter muscle and it causes it to atrophy over time. I have overdeveloped jaw muscles from grinding my teeth from a toddler until now and I think it's time for them to go.
Anyone have any firsthand or secondhand knowledge of this procedure and its cost? I'm shelling a lot of money for an augmentation this year and want to be conservative with my expenditures.
Comments from people who are generally against cosmetic procedures will be ignored.
do you have a jaw like Bethenney Frankel, julia louis dryfuss, or Karina Lepiner? i would ask the doctors to have former patients contact you that is what a lot of dentists an plastic surgerons do.
It may hurt but if it will make you happy its worth the temp pain. and btw you dont need to eat baby food only you can get a blender and make your own juices soups shakes basically a adult liquid diet

I wouldn't characterize it as nearly so extreme, but I definitely have overdeveloped jaw muscles from bruxism. I often take pictures on a 3/4ths angle or with my hair occluding my jaw.

None of that sounds appealing to me, that's why I'm interested in the non surgical approach.
Looks really natural. I would avoid surgery just because as you age that jawline softens a bit on it own. Once you cut into your face...you are usually are going to be cutting to fix this or that. If something goes wrong its on your face you can't really hide that. I just wouldn't mess with that because of possible complications when you can just do the botox.
xxbabeechick...I'm not against cosmetic procedures...but looking at your picture makes it real hard to understand how you figure some surgeons gonna do a better job with what nature has already done BEAUTIFULLY....
