Favorite foundation and your skin type?

I have a love hate relationship with a lot of foundations and found it depends on my skin. I got Makeup for ever matte velvet + and loved it the first couple of days, but now I find it drying. I used to use laura mercer silk creme and love it, but then it started feeling too heavy and greasy. I can't seem to find the perfect foundation for my combination skin.

I hate foundation. It all feels fake and like if I touch my face I'd scrape off the paint and leave a stripe -- but I love my Tarte Smooth Operator tinted moisturizer. Luckily I don't need much coverage

The mineral foundations can feel light if you use a very light hand with it -- but my skin is dry to normal and powder anything is out.

Except for years ago -- Coty made a foundation called Chronologix that was a wet/dry powder, and when you put it on with a wet sponge, it was sheer and light. It was the opposite of Max Factor Pancake -- dry it was light, wet it was major coverage. But they haven't made the Coty stuff in years. And I've tried a few of the other wet-dry powders -- they all seem to be like MF...

yeah I do wear tinted moisturizer in the summer, but for some events like summer weddings and whatnot, I want to wear foundation, but it's hard to find one that won't look horrible by the end of a hot night.

I only do tinted moisturizer. I like Clinique and MAC. Good color ranges, as I am a difficult one to suit.

I find foundation to be heavy, and I come from a long line of makeup hating women. :P

I use it pretty infrequently. I use bronzer and focus on my skin care to take care of unevenness.

They always say black women don't like foundation, but that isn't always the case. So many of us can't find matching tones, it is better to be preventative.

Bare Escentuals mineral foundation. Very light but just enough color to even out my skin tone. I wear it year round and have combination skin.

Fair, cool colored skin, other than normal aging I have no skin problems. I found Cool Touch by L'Oreal in the compact just great! Believe it or not, I found this brand out from Dita von Teese, the stripper, blog. It goes on creamy and dries like a powder. Love it!
However, I have to buy 2 of them and mix them together, returning it all to the compact, and it's not hard to do as they mix easily. I mix C2 and C3 together and get the exact tone of my skin....neat, eh?
