It's because they know their looks will please their predominantly male customers, that looking like something that stepped out of a fantasy will keep the tips flowing.

And if youre going to use your appearance to shamelessly relieve the opposite sex of their extra cash, why not go full throttle and become an escort?
When I was talking about how looks can get you ahead, when did I ever mention how that pertains to my current waitressing? Like the OP, I was dealing with the peripheral benefits of looking good, and how that can translate into extra dough in your pocket. I'm sure you make better tips if you look great, and you can find a better job waitressing if you look great, but the financial perks of enhancing one's looks will be found everywhere, but particularly when you're off the clock.

I'm sorry to punch holes in your theory but most girls that become H girls have been investing in their looks long before they start working at H, and will be long after. It's just the kind of job that you get if you already tend to be looks conscientious. And a lot of girls at H have portfolios and do bikini modeling. Most H girls don't work at H for very long, certainly not long enough to invest thousands of dollars trying to better their "career" there.

Most good jobs in the service industry for women count on them to relieve members of the opposite sex of their extra cash, not just H. I've worked at numerous sports bars and lounges that count on female sex appeal without being explicit about it, and don't hire men. Still a big jump between that and the sex industry.

Girls That **** Me Off - YouTube

5:19-5:36 summarizes her point, but the whole thing is great if you can listen to it.

Nurses have odd hours too,or else hospitals would close at 7pm.
We are mandated to work holidays and weekends too.
I'm a night shifter. We also work on our feet,so not sure why you put that. Nurses is notorious breaking backs due to lifting, bending, and squatting all the time.
My health benefits cost me 120 dollars a week. I wouldn't say that's cheap.
I also don't get vacation nor sick days. I do earn paid time off(40 hours)for every 2000 hours worked.
That's equals to one week per year.

It depends on location, experience, and the type of nursing.

In North Carolina I was shocked to find nurses making 20 per hr,with no bennies.
I know because I actually worked down there for a time.
Florida is even worse,18 per hour. Alabama too.

Sure 220 doesn't sound bad to someone in Alabama or Michigan, but Nj is a VERY expensive state.
try finding a 2 bedroom to rent for 500 dollars.

That's IF companies are even offereing those things.
I don't even have 401k,because my company doesn't offer it.
I also don't get Vac/sick/holidays.

Those things are a thing of the past for jobs to carry. More and more companies are ditching those things because they can't afford it.

For the OP, I think the answer is clear. Get the surgery. After all, the goal is not to further your nursing career. The goal is to find a husband. You want to be a housewife, not a nurse. Based on that goal, get the surgery. You may or may not be more successful in your husband hunt, but if you believe surgery is necessary for success, go for it.

What type of woman would even consider this? I think someone famous said, "Beauty fades, dumb is forever."

And sorry, I agree with Trimac. Plastic surgery over a degree? Especially a degree in the healthcare industry? Why is this even a question?

And people are cosigning this mess? Sad indeed.
I've heard similar:

"You can't botox stupidity."
"You can't enhance idiocy."
"You can't implant intelligence."

And, looks fade, no matter how many lipos and stitches and augmentations and reductions you get. Eventually, you'll either have wrinkles, or you'll look like Michael Jackson after the nosejob that cost him the tip of his nose.

And if you're dumb as rocks, or have no education, then you'll be ugly AND stupid, and won't get a job. At least with an education, you'll have a shot when your looks start to fade.

Well, you can be ugly and smart.
You are probably average looking or good looking.
But I'm willing to bet you have never had to put up with what I went through.
I am sure its pretty easy to speak when you never had to go through with it(not specifically you)

You probably never had to go through drooping out of high school because of bullying(even though I was smart,I couldn't deal with it),being scared to walk out of the house, having your self esteem dashed by your family(including my own mother),dropping out of one college due to the stress, having cashiers being rude to you for no reason, and so on.
When I was in the hospital as a patient,a doctor there act like she didn't want to speak to me,even though she was assigned to me. She jumped when she came into my room.
Some family of mine even walk a few steps ahead of me or behind me when we are out.
When we are shopping, some cashiers would speak to my mom, making eye contact and smiling with her and making small talk, but when I go next,no hello, nothing.

OP, if having cosmetic surgery would make you feel better, by all means go for it.

But have specific goals for specific features. Please don't go to a plastic surgeon with non-specific complaints about your general appearance because a) they may think you suffer from depression/psychological issues b) they may think you're unsatisfiable (which is the main reason plastic surgeons reject patients).

I would make a list of features that you're unhappy with (a short one), and what can be done to ameliorate them. Research the sort of procedures that can achieve your goals...then search for a plastic surgeon who specializes in that. I'm seeing 3 different ones at the moment.
