I wonder what "Convertible Pant" means?

It's a pair of pants in which the bottoms zip off to make the pants into shorts. They are popular with outdoorsy types who go from cold to hot temperatures in their activities.

My husband packs them when he travels. Saves him from having to pack both pants and shorts. Plus the material they are made out of is often lightweight and quick to dry (nice if you are washing them out in a sink)
