Why is blond hair, blue eyes considered the standard of beauty for women and men (bleaching, Sally)

Beauty standards are changing, if blondes are not making a comeback, it is brunettes time now.
I don't understand why there cannot be 1 of all styles represented all the time, but one is lifted over others time to time.
I have few friends with extreamely beautiful eyes, ones are greeny blues or blueny greens, I never can make a decision what those are but they sparkle like crystals in sun. Other one has light blue eyes with endlessy deepness, like a water and very confusing, I almost be hypnotizied every time I look into her eyes.
Blue and green eyes has often more to look since it is rarely one stable color but actually there is spots and all kind of stuff, sometimes different colors and sunlight make those things even more interesting.
Some eys are like honey combs, and each comb is sparkling beautyfully. I think blueish eys has more this than any other color.
Blonde hair was ruined by objectizing and sexualization, if it ever comes back, I wish it comes without any stigmas. Blonde hair = sex, porn, of course it is popular in horny peoples mind that sees easy sex available.

I think it depends on the person really, but I was taught that our eyes are 'trained' to pick up on the lighter colors first, i think it is some kind of evolution 'detect prey' thing. But whatever, even though the media tries to force the subject of beauty to be a very black and white thing (either you are attractive or you are not, simple as that, none of the plain/average BS), i find that there are numerous shades of gray regarding what someone finds beautiful. Beauty can also be a culture thing. The older i get, the more i see how life is one big case of 'is the grass greener'. It is human nature to want what we can't have (i think this provides a modern day 'challenge' to keep our instincts intact from how we used to be challenged for finding mates etc. years ago).
But what I will never understand is how people intentionally change WHO they are when they dye their hair a different color. I must say it is the most retarded thing ever when a brunette dyes her hair blonde, and instead of being shy, scared, never venturing outside her comfort zone, she suddenly turns into a flirt and develops a social life and lives life instead of fearing it...I just do not understand why some women cannot connect with those aspects of themselves while keeping their natural hair color. I am a natural brunette and i have always been very comfortable with it, as a teenager i got blonde highlights but i did not act like a different person. And when i dyed my whole hair for the fist time in my 20s, i dyed it BLACK. Why you ask? Because blonde did not appeal to me, i felt that is what people expected me to do, also because i WANTED to go darker, i admire the dark black 'raven' hair, I felt very glamorous with darker hair. I wouldn't mind trying redhead hair or strawberry blonde, those are fun shades too. And for any redheads reading this who are rolling their eyes thinking 'well they forgot us again', hear me out, as a true brunette, i would honestly be ignored then constantly compared to something i am not (blonde) as if i could never be good enough. Honestly, im tired of the hair color stereotypes anyway, they are just stupid, even if we still give them life in 2016...sigh...
I was going to make a post on this haha, but those tv commercials that is always blonde vs. brunette are stupid. I mean in the element of the light, of course blondes are going to win, because they have a lighter hair color. Us brunettes are more suited for the darkness, the seductive 'lure the fly into my web' thing going on. Also looks vs. smarts debate is stupid too, you are comparing physical beauty with a personality characteristic, its like comparing oil and water. its weird.
You're right. There was the article by Samantha Bricks, who had blonde hair and blue eyes, she claimed that she was so beautiful that it made most women incredibly jealous. She also had many male admirers who offered her lavish gifts and money.
the public response was that she was not even pretty, just below average. However, she has blonde hair and blue eyes...must be the prestige associated with having those attributes

well i am latino she the woman in the photo is not by far number one but she is very beatiful in her own way .... to my experience light skinned nice hair beautiful smile nice long legs and a nice personality along with a good presentation/dress or whatever they choose as long as its attractive to their appearance gets a high score ... the girl here is beautiful
This phenomenon has many very plain looking, and even ugly men and women thinking they are attractive. Most are just average. I don't get the excitement about blond hair and blue eyes.
I can remember in the 1940s and 50s Hollywood and movie magazines pushed this as the ultimate in beauty for women.
But in real life where I grew up this didn't seem to have much - if any - weight with guys when it came to dating girls.
