Do you find having an attractive face or having an attractive physique is more common? I mean generally in the gender you are attracted to, but also your own gender. Like, are there more people with attractive to beautiful facial features but fewer with rockin' bods, or vice versa?
I would say for me a really beautiful face is a lot rarer than a great body (which is more controllable. You can beautify yourself with makeup, but there's less room to move than working out etc). However, there are quite a few women with fairly attractive faces. I don't really scrutinize people's bodies in detail, but I think it's true, porn stars and celebs do create unrealistic standards.
This is not a discussion about which you think is more important.
Body. Body is easier to obtain, you can work at and achieve it. The face you just have to be born into. Also, just want to clear up that makeup doesn't make ugly women pretty. It just makes them less ugly and it doesn't matter if its a professional application or not. May I submit SJP. She looks like a horse and there's no fixing that. However, she has a slender body and looks good in clothes.
I've seen butt-ugly people facially wise with attractive bodies that I wouldn't ever touch. Overweight guys are a turn off for me, regardless of what their face looked like, so an attractive face is more rare to me.
Sorry but I have to vote on the body. I had an ugly boyfriend before with a banging body but he also dressed well and was very clean and hygienic. That helped too.
I'm completely the opposite. In a way that I'd rather have a boyfriend with an ugly body and "banging" face rather than vice versa. I guess you were also drawn to his personality and how he was in bed. These two are good factors for male attractiveness.
Not to sound graphic, but when I'm turned on or fantasizing about someone I can't be thinking of a body part. It could never "get me off". It's just skin and meat. The face has always been the essential factor for me. It's what defines the person.
Still interesting though, how we all have different perceptions on physical attractiveness.

Okay, dont blame me for reanimating this old thread. But I am going to participate.
I think its very close between face and body. Plain faces can be really fixed up with nice hair makeup to make them seem more attractive, but if I had to choose which I think is more common (based on where I live and the places I frequent, and since I am a guy I am talking about women only) I have to say that an attractive body is a bit more common.
People just seem to take very good care of themselves physically which leads to lots and lots of good bodies (accented by yoga pants and yoga shorts).
I've always, always been drawn to people with attractive faces. I see men AND women as works of art facially. There's no particular "look"; I just know it when I see it, and it's comprised of good bone structure, a straight nose, a flat (not convex) forehead, kind eyes, a warm smile, and a generally strong jawline. It can be an irregular look, or outside the norm of what most people think is "beautiful" these days.
If they have a facial "look" I'm drawn to (and again, I can't describe it any more than I have), I don't really care much about body type. I guess it's because I get the soul from the eyes, the smile, that connection.
