Your thoughts on elastic -- versus those with a clasp?
If you liked a bracelet would you not get it because it was elastic instead of having a clasp?
Im' so tempted by the today's special on QVC. A set of 12 HONORA cultured pearl bracelets. GREAT price.
BUT they're elastic. I'm sure that's part of the reason they're such a good value (besides the pearls). Because it's easier and less labor intensive to string them on elastic than have clasps.
And they're are easier to get on and off.
But SOMEthing about elastic bracelets just subliminally makes me think 'cheaper quality.'
In know they're pearls, but I'm just not crazy bout elastic bracelets?
Others, your thoughts on elastic bracelets.....
I didnt see the demo but they look beautiful in the pictures and would make for a nice gift - if they break or w/b uncomfortable or if you just didnt like them when you got them and opened the pkg, Im sure QVC would take them back (but you'd likely have to send the entire set back) w/o a problem. The one review said they're easy to get on if your hands are arthritic etc which makes sense - honestly it was a pain trying to get some of the bracelets on from yrs bk, you had to use that little tool they sold, I think that's why I hardly wear any now, too time consuming and half the time it didnt work anyway - but those bracelets are beautiful (elastic or not). I think I seen some thing similar at Zales...was they multi colored? They had a good deal as well but I decided I didn't want them because they didn't have a clasp. I'm afraid the elastic may stretch out or break over time and then what are you left with? I want to keep my pearls for a long time, not a year or so. I personally wouldn't go for it, but it's your call if you like them and don't mind the above problem...why not?
I would not invest a lot of money in elastic bracelets because I have to think they are more likely to break one day and I may lose the beads. However, for everyday, fun jewelry I find the that the elastic ones are much easier to wear so I reach for them more often.
I've purchased a few elastic bracelets in the last several years. Not strung with pearls, but with multiple strands of small beads. I can't wear a single one now, they've all stretched out. I see no way to fix them. The ones you're looking at may be better, but elastic stretches.

Lost Roses, couldn't cut the elastic and restring them yourself?
I've worn elastic bracelets for years and have never had one break.
