In fact, my two favorite mascaras of all time are Maybelline's Falsies and Neutrogena's Healthy Volume. They each costs between $5-8.

Falsies is excellent, excellent, excellent. It makes my eyelashes look amazingly long and full. I tend to use it for formal occasions because it creates such a glamorous and dramatic look on me. But you could use it anytime.

Healthy Volume is great too. I use this for the daytime, when I want a less dramatic look. It goes on very smoothly and doesn't clump or flake. It gives a full, smooth, natural look.

Once my current wand of Healthy Volume runs out, I'm going to switch over to Falsies for daytime and evening. I'll wear a little less during the day, and more for the evening. It's an amazing product.
I tried Falsies based on your post! I love it! Thank you! I see what you mean about dramatic!!!

I use it and its amazing.

Or if you want to spend a little more Dior Show from sephora, my brother bought it as a birthday present and it was amazing mascara.

I Love, love, love, love, LOVE my Maybelline Lash Discovery Mini Brush Waterproof Mascara.

Seriously, I have used sooo many mascara and this is one of the best ^

It has a normal length brush, but the bristles aren't as long, so you get better control and less mess.

Maybelline waterproof "define a lash". It comes in a green tube. I have repurchased this many times. Its comparable to the MAC and Dior mascaras I have used in the past.

Maybelline Define-A-Lash : Target

This is the non-waterproof one. I buy the waterproof one in store but the containers are almost identical.

Ulta was having a huge sale on their in-house label cosmetics, so I decided to try out their Double Duty mascara (got it on sale for $5, regular price is $10). It lenghtens and volumizes without looking too thick and clumpy. It's a little tough to remove at the end of the day, but nothing that a good eye makeup remover can't fix (i use lancome's bi facil). I may go back and get some more tubes while they're on sale.

L'Oreal Voluminous is the most consistent for me, but NOT the newer "False Fiber Lashes" formulation, which is waxy and clumpy terrible and nothing like the other formulations.

Voluminous is (duh) a volumizing mascara, so it's not super lengthening, but that works out okay for me, as my lashes are already pretty long, naturally (tend to hit the inside lens of my glasses when I wear them).

Hmm, I'm going to try Falsies! I usually gravitate towards L'Oreal for mascara, so I didn't even know about this. But sounds like it's worth a shot - thanks! I'm always on the look out for mascara. It's probably my favorite beauty product next to lip gloss.
