I'm over the expensive jean fad. With true religions I'm super picky about the stitching. I prefer American Eagle jeans to anything these days. They just fit me better than anything else. Although I had one pair of rock and republics I loved but I finally wore them out.
Levi's. I tried buying some Wal-Mart Wrangler jeans once what were on sale for $12... didn't work well. So it's back to the $30-40 Levi's. I actually just bought a new pair of 501s since the current pair is finally pretty much shot after four years. They'll join the other painting/mowing lawn jeans. Those are mostly Carhartts. They hold up a bit better than Levi's but aren't as comfortable if you're just wearing them casually on days off.
Mostly Levi's short fit me best. I also have a pair of Ralph Lauren petite that I wear. Other than that, whatever fits me, and I have a very hard time find jeans that fit. I hate getting pants hemmed. I am 5'4" though, and the vast majority of pants out there are way too long.
Another issue I have is that most jeans seem like they are for very young people. I HATE low-rise jeans (or any other pants.) Now, If I was 20 again, with the body I had then, I'd probably like them. But I like my pants to come up to my waist -- I have a high waist. DD thinks it's hilarious.
I like boot-cut as well -- they are the most flattering. DD looks great in skinny jeans (she is 12, looks 15). Her legs are longer than mine -- she is going to have that tall, think frame, whereas mine is built for baby-breeding, lol.
True Religion, Hudson, Lucky, Joe's are some of my favorites. I wear jeans almost everywear - even when going out - I'll put on a nice blazer or fun blouse with jeans and boots.
Express or Gap for me. Everything else is too short even in a long.
