I think there are woman who are attracted to a sense of ruggedness (i.e. a hardworking mechanic, carpenter, electricin, etc.), but it doesn't necessarily have to do with torn jeans (even those workers wear jeans and pants in decent condition).
Not usually to work. If "he" is in fact these things, a brand new pair gets a hole in it in less than a month.
Oh thank God I have to pitch them because of a hole or two when I'll probably rip the crotch out or the butt this week too.
Since the demographics of this thread (and C-D in general) is not for teenagers I would be safe to assume that the reference to "girls" in the title was a call for the "ladies" to chime in.
Also, the target audience for "Call Me Maybe" is for tweens, teens and 20somethings (maybe college age). And again, not the demographic that would be responding to a thread on C-D.
I'm sorry if you can not understand that what a 19 or 22 year old would want is different from what a 28, 32 or 47 year old woman would want....bottom line is ripped jeans on men are not "sexy" to most women over age 25.
The references to Rico Suave and George Michael reflected that fact that ripped jeans were actually en vogue during the 90s (back when a lot of us who are posting were pre-teens or teenagers) and they are not en vouge in 2012. And you are also trying to compare what grown women find attractive to what a 16, 17 or 18 year old girl would find attractive.
Why are you not able to see the difference?
Rico Suave, George Michael, Joey Lawrence, John Stamos... all HOT in their ripped Levis in the '90s, if you ask me! I wore them back then too, but then I was 20 years old and gay lol! (I'm still gay btw But don't wear ripped jeans).
The fact that they are out of style and not trendy is all the more reason I will continue to wear them. I don't wear them everywhere, but if I'm going bar hopping, playing in my band, etc I will wear them. I've had an ex over 30 that loved them, while I had another that hated them. It's pretty hit or miss. With all the ridiculous looks and things people wear in public like birkentstocks or tucking a t-shirt into pants, I'd hardly lose sleep over it OP.
