Hi
I just got a catalogue from Eddie Bauer. I have never bought any of their clothes but found a couple of interesting pieces in the catalogue, so I was wondering if any of you ever ordered clothes there? I wonder about quality and fit.
Thanks in advance for the input!

I had a pair of pants from there, and as I recall, they run large. Hopefully someone else has more details for you.

Love the quality of clothes from Eddie Bauer, their down filled coats are great and last for years. Fit tends to run on the large side. Watch their website for special offers

Their stuff does run a little large. I have had great luck everything I have bought from them-probably 20 items over the years.

Most of my entire wardrobe is from Eddie Bauer!

I order online now, after going through the catalogs. I used to go to their actual stores, but the ones near me closed. I go 1-2 times a year to one that's like an hour away.
  • Classic styles that are not trendy and won't go out of style.
  • Good quality, won't fall apart. Last years and years. And since they are classic styles, I have pieces like 20 years old that still fit, and look good.
  • Good fit. My only problem is when I find a fit of pants of jeans that they make that fit me great, the change their fits. Then I can't order bottoms again until I go to the physical store and try on. Depending on the fit, I might wear a 6 or an 8. But I still have size 4's from years back from EB that still fit well!
  • Tops (shirts, Tees, sweaters) are much easier to order online, as the fits are more consistent, and they even give a lot of measurments in inches if you aren't sure.
  • Used to be mostly casual clothes, so I would get work clothes from Ann Taylor and the like. But in recent years EB has work-appropriate clothes, even suit pieces.
  • Boyfriend likes their clothes too, so we both shop there. Men's pants do tend to run a little big, and even the straight-fitting mens jeans are a little baggy in the butt, pretty much all the time.

Ha! This happens to me, too. I really like their jeans, but they keep changing the terminology. I have to go in and figure out what they're calling the Natural Fit Straight Leg these days.

I know! For years I wore "Vashon fit" and I knew I could order anything in that fit, at a certain size, and it would fit perfectly. Then they got rid of Vashon, so I went to the store and tried a bunch of fits on. I can wear "Blakely" now, but some Blakelys don't fit as great as others (some are Blakely-Curvy). In jeans I would buy "Classic-Barely Bootcut," but not they don't make Classic anymore either.

I wish they would stick to classic fits for bottoms and not change every few years!
