I see this more and more, especially on tv. They wear glasses that have no lenses at all, just the frames. I think it looks kind of silly.
Best as I can tell, its just a silly fad that started in Japan last year. Since over 75% of Americans need corrective lenses, it probably wont get too popular. Unless people wear them, with contact lenses. Which would be really silly.
I'd gladly trade my glasses (and/or contacts) for some idiot's 20/20 vision so said idiot can look cool, or whatever posturing s/he is trying to attain.
I dont get that or the snooki/kanye west type that look like blinds? I guess.. who knows. I have 20/20 vision but I have a pair of glasses to wear when reading/computer/ tv to help with the strain on my eyes because I get the most god awful headaches and I havent had a headache since. I enjoy wearing my glasses but I don't wear them to look cool or in style.
I hate it. It looks stupid and I get that they're trying to make this "nerd" thing look hot and cute, but it's the other way around, really. Real nerds are cute.
Even as a kid..tried on a friend's pair to see what I looked like in glasses..didn't get it.
Glasses are annoying and I am thankful I don't HAVE to wear them yet.
That is all that fashion adventure taught me...take care of your eyes!
I don't really care. It just seems like a high school fashion thing and wanna be hipster little kids.
Eyeglasses without lenses on TV or in films may be worn as it eliminates glare and are just part of the character's appearance. If wearing glasses is hip, that's great - I've been wearing them for 55 of my 65 years!
Weird. I, personally, hate glasses, hate having them on my face. I wear contacts most of the time but sometimes use the glasses to give my eyes a break.
