I have 2.5 inch heels which for me is high I usually wear flats. I seldom wear them, last two times was to MIL's funeral and to the retirement day of my cardiologist at his office in hospital.
I am 53 yrs.

After having ankle surgery 4 years ago, I can only wear up to 3" heels. I wear them for a night out on the town or formal event, but otherwise there are so many other trendy shoes/boots these days with smaller heels (or flats) that I usually stick to those. I'm 55.

The most height my knees & handle is 3" heels. I work in a townhouse style office and am up and down a long steep set of stairs all day with my hands full of stuff, so I rarely wear heels higher than 1" to work -- it's just dangerous for me! I wear heels now about 1x/week. I'm 55.

My very wealthy, eccentric sister in law wears 3-5 inch heels and she's 66. She has to look good at all times. I've never seen her in jeans and sneakers. She even goes grocery shopping in dresses. I KNOW her feet are in pain, but her vanity (or is that insanity? lol) won't allow her to wear comfy shoes. One time we got into a conversation about sore feet and I suggested for her to try Birkenstocks and she said "Oh! NO WAY I'd wear those, they're ugly".

I'm 55. The highest heel I can wear is 2 1/2 inches and I only wear them if I'm going to a wedding or formal party. I don't know whether I have arthritis in my feet but even when I was in my 20's my feet hurt if I had to stand on them for a long time. Birkenstocks are the ONLY shoes that I've found that I can stand on for any length of time without hurting.

I've tried many kinds of heels and haven't found anything that is comfortable for any length of time to stand on. My feet hurt when I'm wearing them, I hate wearing them and can't wait to get them off my feet.

When I see bank tellers or women with similar jobs wearing high, spiked heels, I am amazed, and wonder how they can possibly wear those every day, all day.

I have mild osteoartritis in both hips which is one of the reasons I seldom wear heels.

Mayor Bloomberg please come to the rescue and ban these torture machines.

I love heels! They should be banned for everyone because YOU don't like them? I didn't know it worked that way.
In that case, I want all meat banned because I don't eat it.
