I hear many people speak of two minds when talking about it. I hear some are sad to replace something they really like or have worn for a while, but can't now because it's ruined or can't be worn; because it is a part of their identity, whether it be a favorite item of clothing, shoe or what have you. Some people feel attached to it and all the life events that happened with it. Others feel the well-loved item has had its run and feel actually relieved to replace it with something new, to change things up, to get a chance for a new look. Perhaps it was something you wore in a previous decade or when you were younger (eg. your 20s going into your 30s).

What do you feel more most of the time in general? Do you feel more happy to replace the item for something new or a change in style (with a "out with the old and in with the new!" or more sad that it gets tossed away with all its memories associated. Or do you feel both (often at the same time!)

I didn't realize it until now writing this, but it's an appropriate topic for New Year's day.

Usually I'm sad.

But not so sad that I didn't spend today going through my closet and dressers. 4 garbage bags full of stuff are going to Goodwill!
