I remember an author in the 90's who wrote a book about the concept of beauty but
can't find the book or remember the authors name. The book focused on how much
money was (and really still is) made by making women feel inadequate or try to
measure up to what is the ideal image of beauty.

I quickly passed this thread/subject (which reminded me of this book) and how
women and I'm sure some men feel bad about the way they look. The author
noted how many companies profit from our insecurities, industries like i.e., cosmetics,
weight loss, fashion, medical (plastic surgery) etc...

The image of beauty keeps evolving and changing. Think of what was desired from the
Victorian era to now. It would be a good book to read but who wrote it.
