I'm wondering because I have thought of how my mom grandma and great grandma are so differently proportioned wen they were young and including me. I find it hard to believe. My mom's more a pear 31-23-33. And I'm more an inverted triangle/hourglass 36-24-33.5. And my grandma was built like a natural Pamela Anderson 41-23-34. And my great grandma was built like a stick Moreso 34-26-34. Also height wise it's all over the place and weight gain is different with almost each. I don't get if its usually the maternal line what could have likely happened?
I don't think it's true that most women get their body shape from their mothers. I definitely didn't. I have my dad's figure, just the female version of it. My husband's two daughters definitely have his figure too. They are both big boned and stocky like him and although he's a man I can tell that they got their chest size from him. Their mother is thin and petite but the girls definitely are not.
No, most women do not get their body shape from their mother. Some do, some don't. My mother had 8 sisters and some of their body shapes were clearly from both parents. My daughter is built like her dad's mother.
Mine isn't. My mother is a dramatic pear - flat chested and narrow up top, wide hipped with chunky legs. Her mother was a bit of an apple, again with small breasts.
My paternal grandmother was built like a man with boobs - broad shoulders, no hips.
I am am both broad shouldered and broad hipped. An hourglass, but somewhat stocky. I truly got the top half from Dad and the bottom half from Mom.
Women get one X from their mom and one from their dad. A woman can be shaped like a female from either side of the family. My dad always said my big sister looks just like his mom and I take after the woman on my mother's side of the family.
Exactly. It would be better to compare what your maternal grandmother and paternal grandmother look like if someone wanted a very broad overview of where they got their body from.
I am about an equal mixture from both of my grandmothers.

I have more my maternal grandma but I have my dad's nose eyebrows and eleashes and hair and mom's eyes and when I was young a mixture of my mom and grandmas eye color. And my mom's lips but fuller and the "Joseph cheekbone structures and my dad's skin tone.
But my paternal grandma was a pear of course I'm more like my maternal grandma.
