I have a flip flop that was very comfortable. I had it for like 4 years and it was American Eagle but the strap broke. Its not those cheap flip flops where they are like sandals at the beach. Its a very strong flip flop so it has leather/rubber.
I would like to purchase another one... however not from American Eagle because I don't want to be wearing that brand.
I had the AE ones also and had an issue when it came time to replace them since the newer ones they make are cheaply made. Old Navy has some decent leather ones, you might also want to check out Clarks.
Check out the sport stores, not just the shoe stores. You can get sporty flip flops in many different popular brand names. Good leather ones too. I bought a nice Denver Hayes pair of flip flops that served me well on vacation.
