I have to go to a work conference where I will be on my feet, literally, for about 10 hours. The dress will be business causual, but all of my work shoes have heels. I, of course, have flip flops and sneakers, but neither of those would be appropriate. I also have some ballet flats, but I'm not sure I'd get good support with those for that extended period.
Any suggestions for comfortable, stylish (but not uber-trendy) walking shoes?
What about a cute flat or small heeled loafer? There are plenty of options with good support. I have a pair that are BCBG and very comfy for days when I have to do a lot of walking.

This is what I was thinking. That's what I wear when I'll be on my feet for hours. I put gel inserts in my flats when I'll be walking around in them for a long time.
You're welcome. I never used to put inserts in my flats, until one day when I was doing a lot of walking and my feet really hurt by the end of the day. I bought inserts after that and they really helped.
Callisto makes UBER comfy shoes (sold at Macy's). Some have high heels, others, not so much. Some are embellished with rhinestones others are plain leather or fabric. I can walk miles in Callistos
1. Kenneth Cole collection flats (the ones you want are the ones with the flax seed arch pillows -- sometimes labeled with 9-2-5 technology. )
like these: Turkish Delight Flat - W Shoes - Kenneth Cole
I have a few pairs, and I have walked miles and miles in them. They stop feeling comfy after about 2 years of constant wear. Then they get downgraded to standing for half a day shoes.
**they usually have at least 5 styles for these
2. If it is a bit more casual, try puma flats! The ballerinas. Women | Shoes - from the official Puma® Online Store
*the fold up ones are less comfy than the ones with stiffer soles, but all are pretty good. The stiff soled ones have accompanied me on many 6-7 mile walks, including to the Golden Gate Bridge.
3. Clarks -- these are comfy but a bit stodgy
4. Geox: these are comfy, but seem to need a little bit of break-in. Like wear them 1-2 times. But at the time I bought mine, I was dealing with some hypothyroid induced Plantar fasciitis so I was extra sensitive. Now that isn't a problem, but I haven't purchased any new Geoxs either.
And there you have it, these have been my tradeshow shoes.
Oh, another note. Even the lower end Kenneth Coles are pretty comfy. I find the fancy ones with the flax pillows extra comfy, but the Reaction line ones have served me well over the years. I have lots of those too.
Getting the gel inserts makes a difference as well, and can solve problems for almost any flat.
