Most of my friends shop at Victoria Secret or Macy's for their undergarments (bras) --is it worth it to spend that much money on bras (especially at Victoria Secret where one bras is about $40 to $60. Let me know if you have better places to buy these things

Personally I find Victoria's Secret bras to be hit and miss, and for the cost - I'd rather not take the chance. They seem to change the format of even individual lines too much -so even if one type/line works great, I get another, and it's crap. I have been using Her Room to ferret out decent brands and sticking with them. But yes, I do spend between 40-60 on a bra.

Victoria's Secret isn't that great. I don't know why people hold it up as the paragon of fancy underwear.

If you're just looking for some decent everyday bras, if there's an outlet mall near you they usually have Maidenform and Bali outlets. You can generally get the same bras sold in department stores for half or more off. Places like Gabes and TJ Maxx sometime have good deals, too.

Victoria's Secret and Macy's don't stock my bra size. I have to spend $40-65 on bras. I go to Nordstroms or order online from Herroom, Figleaves or Bravissimo. For basics besides bras I end up going to Kohls, Target and similar department stores mostly.

The only thing at VS that seems to be worth the price are the cotton underwear.

I am on my phone, please forgive the typos.

I usually will wait for a good sale to go on before I buy a bra, I have several from Macy's then I started buying from Saks and Neimans then I found a store that just sold bra's that I go to most of there bras are in the 80 - 250 range but they have a yearly sale so I still buy them when they are on sale. VS does have sales through out the year and that will usually save you some big bucks. hope this helps

If you know your size in a specific brand, you can shop on ebay or amazon as well for new bras.

It depends on your size. If you're small or medium up there you will have different needs that a larger size.

Op, do you know what size you are probably around?

I know a lot of people here don't like VS but I think they have some really cute lace designs and colors that can't compete with anything else in that price range.

I've found an Olga bra that fits like a dream, is comfy, and wears like iron, and I can find it on Amazon or store websites on sale for $25-$30 pretty easily. Bought one in every color and an extra beige. So, unless I need a specialized bra or something extra-fancy, like a strapless or racer back or a red sheer with lace, it's not an issue. Find what really works for you as far as a basic bra goes, then keep an eye out on the TJ Maxx/Ross racks for a splurge or specialty bra at a good price.
