Ladies with Mature Skin: Do you like *pressed* foundation?

Not quite mature yet but I notice with that type of product some days (especially winter) it looks best set with a refresher spray. Depending on your face lotion and face hydration you may want to spritz again later in the day. I like reviva rosewater spray.

Anytime I use mineral I finish with a press and roll with my finger tips or sponge and a blast of the hairdryer to remove excess powder. (warm/high speed, no eyemake-up/just concealer/foundation) Hairdryer tip works well for my mom who has sensitive skin and is well over 60. She uses pressed foundations lightly to set liquid foundation. One less brush to clean. (usually a fluffy brush is used but can irritate sensitive skin)

"Mature" is an under statement, for me. I have some fine lines around my eyes, and am pretty well preserved thanks to 20 years of Emu Oil, morning and night. Alexis Vogel pressed foundation works for me, but I add a drop of Emu Oil to that before applying. And, I Emu Oil my face lightly before applying foundation, and gently pat with a cotton pad. I don't use much foundation - really not needed. I have very fair, dry skin and it loves this oil. Foundation glides on and stays in place, with just a very light dusting of neutral mineral powder as a finishing touch. I'm 73. You young girls should look in to Emu oil, especially if you have dry skin. Oh, and I've always stayed out of the sun.

I am past mature, let's say OLD!! I have tried about every kind of foundation and still the best for my skin is simply liquid and then a little blush...I am lucky, and have no idea why, but I do have skin that is younger than my years. Other than very basic care I have never used anything particular or done anything different. I even lived in the sun as a kid and a teen, being raised in SoCa. I will add, this isn't just about foundation, but my hair dresser was saying, just a few weeks ago, for us oldsters: if you can see your make up, blush, foundation or eye shadow you are probably wearing too much. the reason, as we age we should be downplaying any flaws in our skin and because our eye site isn't what it used to be, if we can see it, other can see it twice as much. Think of all the older women you have seen that look like they are going on stage or something?
