I don't like the one in the OP mostly because of that weird fur collar. I think that leather should be part of a more...rebellious?...look.
I like motorcycle jackets.
I liked the leather trench coat I had when I was a gothy teenager. But I can't find another one like it anymore. It was mid-calf length, had deep straight pockets, straight sleeves with no cuff, no zipper but I think I took the buttons off, I don't believe it closed. It had the kind of long notched lapel sort of collar, and the shoulders under that had some patches of a sueded leather that had different texturing, but not obnoxious patterns (no animal print!) It was all black, even the suede part. It was comfortable and gave me a TON of confidence at a time in my life when I needed it...which in my opinion is probably one of the bigger perks of wearing a nice leather coat.
A good leather coat should make you feel like a bada$$... if it doesn't, you're kinda doing it wrong.
