You are so uninformed cali girl, they may be ugly but they look great w/ shorts because thats what they were made for. They are not winter boots, they are made in australia and if you didn't know it's warm there, and were originally made for surfers to keep there feet dry after surfing. They are warm weather boots so I don't know why people think to wear them only in the winter.

I don't surf...
Anyway, UGGS are made of shearling... right? And I wear shearling coats in the wintertime and never in the summertime because they would be too hot. Therefore, I don't want shearling on my feet in the summertime either. UGGS are the complete opposite of wearing sandals. Sandals are perfect warm weather footwear imo.
UGLY, UGLY, UGLY. They never look nice. Never. They're supposed to be practical, I believe. It's like everyone wearing their garden shoes out and about. But, God, now I recall having seen so many people out and about in their slippers ... and pajama bottoms. Good Lord! Now that I recall that, maybe they're not so ugly. Well, ugly, but at least not so trashy. Sigh.

Hi. You've got your history a bit wrong. The Aussie surfers may have introduced them to the rest of the world, but those boots had been around for a long time before the surfers. They were designed for warmth, but it turned out they had the opposite effect, too, so the surfers scooped them up. So, they were not designed to go with shorts. Anyway, I don't have the time to go on, am by no means an expert, but you could easily look it up on Google. Just thought I'd add a little bit of clarification.
