I know a teenager named Margaret, and she does not go by anything else by the full name. On the other hand, I know a woman in her 30's named Tyson and that's about as ugly a name for a female as it can get (good name for a dog).

Always hated the name Maggie. Gratefully there's never been many of them. Also don't like Heidi.
Those are the names of the grandmas now!

My brother, London disagrees with this. But, my sister, Kalamazoo agrees.

I make no judgments & I'm not sure why, but the vast majority of names don't sound pleasant to me, newer names or more traditional. I guess we all hear sounds which are pleasing or not. We also may like or dislike names for more associative reasons... if one wasn't treated well by a Sue, Freddy or Montrose in the 3rd grade... well, it might not bring about good memories.

I do find some circumstances strange, however. Like George Foreman naming all 5 sons, George. Why? I'm guessing he must have had nicknames (or numbers) for them all. 'George III, do your homework!'

And, with the unusual spellings or pronunciations people use, people do need to lighten up about the average citizen not knowing how to spell or pronounce a particular name. One may not know that Katelinne is your birth name spelling or that Nyykk is pronounced 'Nick'. Roll your eyes at mum & dad... I'm not a psychic, Ma'Rcee.

Yeah, Karen is a sexy name IMO. Linda is cool too. Sharon is terrible, the first thing I think of is Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon. It'd be like naming your daughter Reagan or Boehner.
