I don't understand.

I have jackets that are 20+ years old (basically from high school). If they still fit and look nice, who cares?

My son is a freshman in college in Chicago and he just asked for one. . . so my guess is they are still wearing them there!

They deserved it. I don't have any North Face items but I'm not sure why people shouldn't wear them. It might not be 2005 anymore, but it still gets damn cold here in South Dakota.

I suppose I should be embarrassed to wear the Columbia coat I just bought that's from last season.

The OP has stated that he is from suburban MD in other posts. Being "up to date" fashion wise is somewhat of a sub-culture in parts if the area. One reason one school system went almost 100% to uniforms several years ago.

You might not realize this, but some people actually do things outdoors besides walking between the car and whatever indoor place represents their current destination. TNF might not be good for Michigan Avenue, but three blocks away on Lake Shore Drive, it's a different story.

I've been wearing the same TNF mountain jacket for almost 18 years on and off. TNF still make the same basic jacket, which suggests that they still sell a lot of them. I had to replace it because it wore out after being abraded and scuffed while skiing, sailing, biking, climbing, hiking, shoveling snow, walking the dog, and a million other things. I have other TNF stuff too, a lot of it. And Patagonia, and Columbia, and other offensive outdoor brands too.

Oh huh really? I'm shaking in my boots. I was asking a question and then somehow the NFites get all wound up. Hilarious actually. I asked because I almost see 0 college kids around here wearing NF fleeces anymore. Not like the masses did back in 2004 and 2005 when I was in college. Actually I see more kids wearing leather now.
