We have a north face outlet, so there are lots of people wearing it here, I think it's popular here in the south, maybe in part to the outlet.

I don't know what north face is, meant to go in the outlet the other day but didn't have time. We didn't have that store back in my old state, and never really heard much about the brand.

So 2005...this guy (lol). I still wear the same North Face black fleece from 1998. I also have a black North Face bubble jacket that I wear. Pretty much all my jackets are North Face.

I usually wear South Pole jackets since they are more suited for our cold winters as opposed to "north face" which are somewhat thinner. Highs are only in the 40's up here and is only a matter of time before things turn a whole lot worse. In fact, a high of 32 F is expected this Sunday bringing along with it low temperatures in the teens. After that comes 2 days of snowfall. SHIVER !!!!.

I guess my CBS ski jacket is not going to pass the fashion test either......

I can't recall exactly when I bought it, but it has to be at least 20-25 years old. If you overlook the duct tape here and there, it is in pretty good condition.

And it is WARM.

Special, no. But it is nice to not have a carbon copy of what everyone else is wearing.

My Barbour is only a year old but its been a great coat for me on my last trip to Glasgow (where it rained and rained and rained).

I know it will need reproofing and I'm on the fence if I should get it reproofed professionally or try to do it myself.

OP - If you want to talk about winter fashion, no problem! But you have to at least tell us what you consider "in" for 2013/14 winter wear?

Can you please provide examples of:

- a lighter winter/fall jacket (ie Fleece, Leather, light wool warmth)
- a heavy, down winter jacket for places where it actually gets cold - Siberia cold. (when Leather & wool are not warm enough)

I still have NF coat, among others. It is warm light weight and still looks good. The boys / men here in my neck of the woods still wear them.

In the snow?

North Face is a high quality brand ,that never goes out of style. NF has been around for decades. I didn't notice a surge in 2005. It probably has more to do with your age and college students being more concerned about brands than people in other age groups. I never considered NF "in" or "out", just a good quality jacket.
