I welcome everybody to describe what their favorite pair of shorts look like.

Mine is a deep blue pair of baggy khakis with a steel metallic tip belt. It has 6 pockets and is very useful for storing wallets, ID's, keys, sunglasses, geometry & writing tools, and hankies while pulling off a casual look. I wear it very often in the summer and sometimes in spring and fall.

Hot pink J. Crew chinos. They match so much stuff, I wear them like it's a neutral color.

I don't ever wear shorts unless I'm exercising, and even then, rarely.

Mine are a pair I got from Talbots about 2 years ago. The are a very light color kaiki (sp?) and a fabric that is easy to iron and seems to hold a press better than most I have. They have the side pockets and 2 back pockets and hang just and inch or 2 above the knee. Oh yes, I got a great deal on these, as they were marked down on a final clearance that season from $45 to $12. Now that November is well under way they are tucked away until April, unless we decide on a short trip to FL. But who knows, right now here in mid Maine in early morning today, it's already 52 degrees.

I don't wear shorts either... except when whitewater rafting.

My buddy from Minnesota wears shorts every day year round. Even the winter chill here in NJ does not bother him.

I keep a pair of shorts with me to wear outside even during the winter. We usually have bets on NFL games and the guys who lose the bet should stay outside for 5 minutes wearing shorts. Being a strong Patriots fan, I am usually safe except for the rare late season loss. Hey, it does not hurt to wear shorts once in a while when its below freezing. I usually start doing karate kicks when this happens and surprisingly it keeps my legs quite warm .

For ladies: you can include knee length Capris and tights under shorts as well if you like them a lot.

There are a few that wear shorts year round here - mosly some of the men. I rarely see shorts on women in the winter. The guy across the street from me wears them most of the winter except when he is working. The mailman wears them most all year round as well.

I mostly don't wear shorts from October-May. Only if I lose the game day bet, and that too only for 5 minutes. Freezing temperatures in shorts for such a short period is bearable if you manage to move your legs constantly.
