As you are aware, a lethal cold wave is blasting across the mid section and Atlantic coast.

So, how many layers of clothing are you wearing today, and what apparel & accessories are you using to battle the nasty cold weather.

I am wearing 5 layers today. A tank undershirt, polo, sweatshirt, woolen vest, and a winter coat with gloves and a hood. I must protect my tropical skin & body from the cold else risk hypothermia.

My brother in Pittsburgh says it was so cold yesterday night he had to wear a mask, gloves, and hat along with 8 layers to shield from the cold. Poor guy.

FYI climate does dictate fashion to a degree, so this is not a weather thread by any means.

Right now - with the wind chill - it is supposed to feel like 9 degrees outside. I haven't been outside yet, so indoors I have on my usual underwear a lightweight sweater and a fleece vest with velour slacks and I feel comfortable.

One, because I haven't left the house yet.

Ooh, it's warmed up to 18 degrees, yay.
I'm about to get dressed and go out, I'll be wearing a minimum of three layers plus a hat and gloves, jeans, socks, fur-lined boots. I have to finish raking and bagging the rest of the leaves, then run to the grocery store, then go to friends' house for a late lunch and laze about.

No warm water for my morning shower today . Had to shower in 55 F water for 20 minutes. The cold shower today really froze me to the bone and for some weird reason make my knees pain like an old geezer, don't know why. Its 63 F inside and I feel cold. Very odd. Perhaps doing a couple rapid inner cut roundhouse kicks would help warm me up.

It's ridiculously cold out and the wind chill is in the single digits, oh my
I keep the heat very low in my apartment, and am not going outside today.
Have 3 layers on: thin cotton shirt, thermal layer next, then a chamois shirt over all that.
Doing housework would warm me up temporarily, but I'd rather stay wrapped up in bed.

Slightly less than yesterday. Forget the tank undershirt since it will be in the mid-upper 30's today. Wearing a Polo, Sweater, Woolen vest, and Winter coat, which makes it 4 layers. Wednesday will be in the upper 50's F with rain, which indicates T-shirt weather .
