BTW, here are pictures from last year's parade in Manhattan. I went there with my entire extended family and it was loads of fun. It was very crowded though so I apologize for not being able to take perfect shots. Bundle up this year if you are going to the parade, since it will be a lot colder with windchill's in the 20's:

I have to attend two dinners. One at the prospective FIL's house and the second at her former stepmom's.

So, possibly some coloured chino pants, checked shirt, rolled up sleeves and my new aquamac

It's a mackintosh from Aquascutum, popularly known as aquamac. Mine's beige.

I laughed, since it's my plan as well, I'm staying put, but yes, it would be different it I were heading out to spend the day with others. So comfy lounge wear it will be for me all day.

I generally wear a dress. I am plotting a knit wrap dress. Mostly so my parents have a chance to see what I am wearing to "work" lol! Otherwise the only see weekend gear and then think I don't ever "dress up!"

But about 60% of my clothes are items that look "fancy" but feel like lounge wear so it is super comfy.

Normally I would sport a dress as well, I wore a wrap dress a few years back. I tend to dress nicely for holiday gatherings whether I'm the host or attending them elsewhere. I was going to spend the time at a friends this year, weather intervened; my plan this time around though, I was planning to wear black palazzo type pants with a nice top to hide any expansion.
