Not policing your thread, just letting you know why someone might think this thread is about fasting for looks

I don't find it very difficult to fast.
I've wondered if fasting, say, 2 days per week would be an easy way to cut down on calories without damaging my metabolism. I think I could do it.
IfI get hungry I can always just wait and often the hungry feeling just goes away.
When I'm busy at work I can easily pull 10h days without lunch.
No effect on my mood at all.

When I was younger I would fast now and then. I certainly did not feel a energy boost at the beginning. Now I am older and can't really fast. Be careful fasting just before Thanksgiving and then stuffing yourself that day. I wonder if people do that since they know they will be eating a lot the next day. It can't be good for your body to eat nothing and then cram food in it like crazy the next day.

I fast every Thanksgiving... and by fast I mean how quickly I can drink my beers to tolerate my family and gobble down that turkey! NOM NOM NOM!

LOL... I'm just kidding.. trying to be funny this morning... have i ever tried Fasting on a day like today? Heck no... why would I want to tease MYSELF? No thanks!.... I look at it as one of those few days during the year where I can eat what I want with no regrets and be FAT AND HAPPY!!

Technically, South Indians are supposed to fast every month and limit their food intakes during certain points along the lunar cycle. Fortunatley, this routine should be bought into practice only after several years of marriage. According to our belief's, as you age it is important to respect the lord wholeheartedly and follow all the fasting principles inscribed in our calendar. This means I have to gear myself up for a daunting ride later on in life, when I will be fasting very often. Hey, at least from the bright side its a sigh of relief for those who cook for the family as they are often given a break from cooking & cleaning at older ages.

I fast, usually while I sleep or for 12 hours before having blood work. In all seriousness, I used to do it right along with trying every other thing under the sun if I thought it would help me fit into my perfect dress. Sigh. I've also tried for what I deemed healthier reasons. As someone else mentioned, for health reasons, I no longer can do a long fast or I may be carted off to the emergency room.
