I'm 27 now and have a career going, so I'm looking for a bit of an upgrade.
Eeew!! If you want to get your career going avoid toxic foul smelling perfumes and cologne! Cologne is more offensive than cigarette smoke!
"Fragrance is a known respiratory irritant and neurological toxin and one in five people in the US experience adverse health effects from synthetic fragrance exposure (Wolff, 2006). For many people, exposure to perfume can pose serious health risks such as migraines, nausea, tightening of the throat, and respiratory impairment in the asthmatic (Canadian Employment Law, 2005). Breathing problems such as hay fever and asthma are found in 15-20% of North Americans and synthetic fragrance exacerbates these problems for many people."
"Over the past 50 years,
80-90% of fragrances have been synthesized from petroleum and some of the commonly
found harmful chemicals in fragranced products include acetone, phenol, toluene, benzyl
acetate, and limonene (U.S. FDA, 2005). The United States tests less than 10% of products on
the market for toxicity and almost one-third of the chemical additives used in perfume are
known to be toxic (Frosh et al., 2002). The fragrance industry uses over 4000 chemical
ingredients to make their products and over 80% of these chemicals have not been tested for
their toxicity"
"Their stories are similar to Michelli’s who says she was forced to retire early from her job as a 911-operator in California because her coworkers used too many fragrances. She noticed severe headaches and trouble breathing after staying in a dorm for overnight shifts."
I've always preferred Cool Water or D&G Lite Blue. However women always give me the most compliments whenever I wear Lucky You...it's only $20 for a 3.5/4 oz bottle.
Versace Dreamer. Old school but a classic. The trick is what smells good on you. Go into a store like Macy's and there is usually a female working the cologne section.
Paco Rabbane sounds like a jewish taco. No offense. Give me a Paco Rabbane extra pickles.
Sometimes, the better department stores like Macys and Nordstrom will give you a sample vial or two to take with you to try. You need to wear a fragrance for at least 20 minutes or a bit longer to know how it will smell on your skin.
Mmmmm let me breathe some life into this post. Nothing better than a man with a nice masculine smelling cologne on, though it depends on body chemistry. Some that I like on a man are:
Chanel Bleu
Chanel Allure for men
Gant Adventure
Armani Code
Armani Mania
Bulgari Black (distinct- not for everyone)
Ralph Lauren Polo Blue or Polo Black
Burberry Brit
